Anti ageing exercises

Feel silly doing facial exercises to maintain your youthful look? Well you don’t have to worry anymore. Now there are plastic contraptions you can attach to your face and neck that will make you forget all about how you look when going through your toning regime.

Below are latest must haves as shown in the August issue of ViVi magazine. The Pukku Lip for the pouty look, What looks like a jaw brace to help you avoid the ‘pelican’ and of course a hair clip to put on your nose to give it a fine profile.

If any of you would actually like to purchase this stuff, let me know and I will try to track it down!

W♥C

My highlight of Shibuya 109 was WC. What 1st drew me to the brand WC was the ingenious word play and the use of the creator’s initials of her name Wakatsuki Chinatsu which coincides with Water Closet meaning toilet. The mascots of WC is a super cute bear named Kumatan and he appears alongside his girlfriend as well in some of the designs.

The most famous pattern and a WC sell out is the words Poo & Pee featuring Kumatan printed all over jumpers and backpacks .When I 1st visited the WC store at Shibuya 109 , I was drawn to the totally fun and crazy lay out of the store. It was really cool and the staff were all super friendly, if it wasn’t for the luggage and money restriction for me as a traveller, I would have literally bought the whole store.
This is why I have decided to bring WC closer to its fans- to those who do not want to pay for a shopper service or for those who might not be able to travel, it is just 1 click away to purchase the latest WC Sping/Summer 2011 fashion and delivered right to your door.

Chinatsu, debuted as a Gravure Idol. Now, she is becoming a gyaru icon. Having her own fashion brand called ‘WC’. She appears in many magazine like Scawaii, Popteen and ViVi.

Scale model surfboard incense burner

Miniature surfboards to hold your burning incense. Our friends from Japan have done it again! Every summer Surf Burner brings out a new line of surfboard designs to hold your incense stick. The short boards are 25cm long with the longboards obviously being a little longer. They come with a little metal clip which you attach to the tail to hold the stick of incense. (See bottom photo). I bought some Vol1 boards as well as some Vol2 boards as they bring out a new volume with new designs every summer. I was just going to buy one board but my husband saw the mini board rack so he wanted to get enough boards to fill the whole rack!

We aren’t really into incense burning so he wants to use the rack and boards as a desktop display beside his computer. This is definitely one of the coolest things a saw on my recent trip to Tokyo.

Sirotan mug

Sirotan milk mug. When I bought all my limited edition Japan Airlines Sirotan toys, I got a surprise gift in the post. A Sirotan mug. The rim is round and the base is in the shape of Sirotan with his facial features embossed in the bottom of the mug. So when you drink your milk and leave a few drops in the bottom, a white Sirotan is revealed! This is a great way to get kids to drink their milk. Try it with strawberry flavoured milk to reveal a pink Sirotan!

Japan Airlines limited edition Sirotan charms

“Sirotan” is a merchandise character made by Creative Yoko, similar to Hello Kitty (by Sanrio) and Afroken (by San-X).

“Sirotan” literally means, Siro/Shiro – “White” and Tan/Chan – “Little” or a child’s way of referring to a friend.  Tan is a small child’s slurred mispronunciation of -chan and Sirotan’s name is childish in the way that the “h” is missing from the “shiro” part which further emphasizes the childish nature of the slurred name

Sirotan is the name for a cute little young harp seal who loves to disguise himself as various sea creatures and landmarks of Japan and well as popular Japanese food. Sirotan is sold with removeable disguises.

Due to Sirotan’s popularity, JAL Haneda Airport has adopted Sirotan as their mascot.

Here Sirotan is disguised as a JAL Pilot, JAL Mechanic as well as a JAL airplane !!
